The Stanly News & Press of Albemarle, North Carolina, published a story recently that featured brothers Hayden and Spencer Lambert, local IHRA drag racers in the IHRA's JR Dragster Junior Drag Racing series. The story detailed Hayden's participation in the IHRA World Finals, where he was runner-up in 2015 (

According to the story, Hayden, "an eighth grader at North Stanly Middle, where he is a straight-A student and a member of National Honor Society, took the IHRA Division 9 Junior Dragster 7.90 championship, featuring drivers from the Carolinas, Virginia, Tennessee and West Virginia. In his sixth year of racing, he has won two division titles and finished second twice, along with a third- and fifth-place finish. This season, Hayden finished in the Top 16 at the World Finals in Memphis, Tennessee, which consists of racers throughout the United States and Canada. He won three races this year.
Hayden's car covers 60 feet in 1.57 seconds from a stopped position and can go from 0-85 miles per hour in 7.9 seconds. Hayden also plays golf as a member of the Piney Point PGA Junior League."
Curcio's story included information on Spencer, Hayden's nine-year-old brother, who also races. Spencer, "a fourth-grade straight-A student at Badin, finished fourth in the IHRA Division 9 Jr. Dragster 11.90 class after finishing third in the class last season. Spencer won his first race this season in his second year as a competitive driver. He will step up to the 8.90 index next season, going from 0-55 mph in 11.90 seconds this year to 0-75 mph in 8.9 seconds next season. Away from the track, Spencer has been playing piano for three years. Both of the Lambert brothers are sponsored by Advance Plating of Nashville, Tennessee. They are the sons of Cale and Stacey Lambert."
