As if we don't have enough sun, heat and water in the state of Florida, I thought I'd venture further south over the past weekend in search of more. Bahamas's Paradise Island Atlantis was a fantastic getaway without the phone, internet or responsibilities, although I have to admit that car withdrawals started setting in. However, I did luck into a perfect seat in the casino; Steve at the table and me watching Indy Mecum on the TV overhead. I felt connected to home.
It appears that I missed a great start to the summer cruising season. Despite the oppressive heat and threat of rain, the cars and trucks kept coming and coming. The first night show at Horsepower Ranch in Geneva had a record turnout of attendees and spectators. Even the Seminole County Sheriff decided to stop by to check out the rides via a helicopter.
Rock & Brews in Oviedo on Memorial Day was the place to be. Even with the huge parking lot, this venue fills up show after show.
I missed everyone and am looking forward to getting my car out cruising this weekend. I am off again next Thursday, heading west for the Hot Rod Power Tour. Steve will be blogging about our adventures, a link will be provided next week.
