Very Rare 1962 Mercury Comet S22 Factory 4 Speed . Original paint , complete original trim , original seats , carpet and headliner , solid body has no cancer only surface rust . The car is in beautiful condition for a 54 year old car . The car was owned by an old man in Seattle , it lived in his garage for several decades . When the man passed away it was offered to his grandson , he wasn't interested and I bought it on eBay 1.5 years ago . I installed a new battery , coil , cap , wires and 4 new tires . I had the differential professionally rebuilt , new bearings , new used ring and pinion , new clutch , pressure plate , through out bearing , new pilot bushing and new front and rear transmission bearings . New lower control arms with balljoints and bushings , new center drag link , new upper control arm bushings , rods and balljoints . New wheel cylinders and brakes on all 4 wheels , and 2 new front brake hoses . I had the radiator recored , installed a new water pump and a new fan belt . I have learned the S22 model began in the second half of the 1962 production year , it included a console bucket seats and badging . The 4 speed is a very rare option. Most manual Comets had the 3 on the tree. In the 1.5 years owning the car I have only seen one 1962 S22 for sale and it had the 2 speed auto . Everywhere I go someone asks me about the car . I love the car and drive it 20 to 30 miles a week, but my bad back needs something with a higher seat . I don't need help selling this car , cash in hand and it's your's. DO NOT TEXT .
