Leading the 1972 NORRA Mexican 1000 by a large margin, Parnelli Jones and co-driver Bill Stroppe found themselves within sight of the Finish Line in La Paz but out of fuel!

What were they to do? Back then, cell phones, radios or other communication devices were non-existent and we take them for granted these days....

Parnelli tells the story of how and why they ran short on fuel, but then more importantly, their remarkable solution - a solution that got the "Big Oly" Bronco "fired back up" and on to take a second consecutive Overall Win in this coveted off-road racing event!
