alot of times if you take the air filter off the maf sees alot of turbulant air flow from the fan and whatnot, this usually causes a car to stall. the maf needs to be able to accuratly read the amount of air flow.
i second this whoely. especially if the MAF points towards the radiator area and the fan blows in temperate air. the trubulence alone will F it up
