First Coast area classic car owners cruised into downtown’s 500 block of E. Bay Street Saturday to show support for the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Hosted by the Historic Springfield Main Street Cruise, the auto enthusiasts wanted to express gratitude to the Sheriff’s Office with a very simple message: “We support our police officers.”

Called “Hot Rodders for Cops,” participants were encouraged to fly American flags on their cars.
They parked across the street from police headquarters at the Shipyards. According to the
organizer's Facebook page, almost 300 signed up to take part in thanking area law enforcement.
