
After qualifying in pole position for the 1988 Japanese Grand Prix, Ayrton Senna's McLaren stalled at the start and fell to 14th place. Thanks to a bump start, Senna restarted his car and quickly made up the gap; halfway through, he passed Alain Prost, and with the course drenched by rain, no one challenged Senna as he won his first Formula 1 driver's championship. It was exemplary of the style of driving that made Senna a champion three times over, and one of the best to ever take the wheel in F1. See him at work below:
