For its 50[SUP]th[/SUP] custom build, Spanish-based bike-builder Cafe Racer Dreams did something that blends retro and modernity. They took a BMW R69S and kept the engine but modified plenty of other components.
For instance, the front brakes are now a disc setup that comes from a Harley-Davidson Sportster. Meanwhile, the suspension stays basically the same at both ends but Öhlins shocks replaced the stock units.



The airbox goes away, replaced by a K&N air filter. BMW R100 fenders are added to the front and rear.
The bike was completely torn down so the customizers could add different finishes to different parts. There’s satin black on the frame, for example, yet other parts were acid-dipped to maintain the vintage look. Even the fuel tank got a mixture of varnish and black paint.


Cafe Racer Dreams gave the bike a sanded leather seat, LSL handlebars, Beston grips, and the same speedo-in-the-headlamp setup of the original. That’s in addition to the Firestone Deluxe Champion tires.
For the person who wants modern touches and a retro look, this might be the bike for you.
