they got into an accident, and according to the mechanic, the camshaft tilted on impact and the mechanic now says it needs a whole new motor. I started it for a few seconds just to see, and it starts up but rattles from the cam area.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or know if this sounds like it would need a full motor and not just a head rebuild/timing belt chance
