Default Project Track Teg

Hey guys. To introduce myself, I am Julio, been in Tampa for about a year now. Havent put much money or effort into a car for a while now and i picked up this 98 Teg LS with a B16 motor a few months ago and the car bug bit me lol. the car was in pretty shitty shape when i got it and it still needs a bunch of work before it is where i want it to be.

This is the car when i first got it and it has the shittiest paint job i have seen so far(will be getting a new one soon hopefully).

The engine bay was no prize either

Ofcourse the first thing i did was an oil change, then decided to get a full tune up and then some. New Dizzy cap, Ignition coil, NGK wires and NGK plugs along with some 310 injectors

I found this Gem when changing the Injectors

what mostly annoyed me was the linkage and shifter. the shifter was barely holding on to the linkage and the linkage had a bolt replacing the pin which made the shifter have excessive slack. my solution was to get a new pin(obviously) and a B&M shifter accompanied by Energy Suspension Bushings

must say it feels heavenly now lol. now that i fixed most issues i went on to some powergetter and upgrades. the timing belt is slack and i dont trust the Ebay cam gears so i got OEM and a Gates belt. also some GSR cams i got for next to nothing.

there were some other upgrades here and there that i didnt mention but there is the updates pics so far

last but not least(for now) i started to work on one of the most critical areas on any car, the brakes. i ordered this kit which consists of the ITR front calipers, Mini Cooper front 280mm rotors, and brake pads. this will let me keep my 4 lug set up and i still get the ITR braking force. separately i ordered stainless steel lines(Techna Fit) and ATE Super Blue DOT4 brake fluid.

This project is far from over but i will be updating this thread as i go. i have plans for a B20/VTEC motor but thats a little ways down the road. concentrating on the more important areas being the suspension and braking. thanks for looking.
