Franklin,
Locally there is currently a general looseness of organization with car clubs. The organization exceptions are mostly with domestic cars being tied in to a national organization of cars of the same brand.
At one time there were 20 car clubs in the Tampa Bay Area, and to standardize rules for autocrosses and rallies and to avoid schedule conflicts they formed the Council of Tampa Bay Autosports Clubs.
Howard Duncan, Danny Shields, Craig Pearce and others standardized the autocross rules. The rules for autocrosses eventually became the standard for SCCA's program. Central Florida Region of SCCA still has Craig Pearce and
Danny Shields as members. Howard Duncan is the SCCA Autocross rules guy nationwide.
You and I may be the only people on TR to see advantages of organization and if you want to talk sometime, catch me at the car meets. -Bob
Here's where you can find some meets:

I appreciate the assistance.
IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT A C.O.C (Confederation of Clubs) IS PLEASE DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THIS DISCUSSION.
