As a friend of a friend who has gone down and passed...I do not believe a friend who enjoyed riding would want you to sell your bike.

Think of it as a connection you still have with that person. Try copy and pasting this into a word document..delete the post and see how you feel in a few months....It may be the best option than regret down the road.
