When i did my rear, i had to get a metal saw to cut through it. Mine was stuck on there, and once i hit the right point, i was able to wedge it out with a screwdriver/ small pry bar. Just be careful if you cut it though, i accidentally went a little bit into my axle when i did mine, the race is a lot thinner then it looks.
