My fuel pump doesn't prime but the car starts? ... Please help me out.
I have a 1991 Honda Civic Hatch Si and I have a quick question about my Fuel system...
I've had the hatch for about a year now and just realized I couldn't hear the fuel pump anymore after around 6 months of driving it. At first I thought it would be a bad fuel pump but it wasn't ... I recently installed a Walbro 255 fuel pump and I still have the same problem I've had with the stock fuel pump.
This is what keeps happening; ... Fuel pump "Does not" prime (With a Walbro 255, trust me .. you will hear it prime lol) and takes me about ten minutes to get the engine to turn over, and once the engine turns over ... it runs like a champ! Just about everywhere I go, if I leave the car sitting too long ... it won't start and again, I wait ten min. till it turns over again.
I've checked the fuel pump wires with a circuit tester and the only wire that lights up is the power wire (Yellow/Black/two grey dots). Now I don't know if this is weird but the fuel pump wires and only the fuel pump wires are "extreamly" hot! I don't know if their suppose to be hot but they are lol. And if I give it full throtle in low RPMs (1500 - 2000 RPMs), it bogs.
I'm stuck and I need help. If anyone out there can help me, I would really appreciate it and reputation will be given.
Thank you,
Alex H.
