FIA World Endurance Championship Announces Epic Sebring Entry
A stellar entry list was announced today by the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) for the 60th Anniversary Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida. America's premier endurance race runs on Saturday, March 17, and will mark the debut of the new world championship.

A total of 30 cars will represent the FIA WEC (running with at least 30 more entries from the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón). Headlining the list is nine-time Sebring winner Audi. The defending 24 Hours of Le Mans champions will bring three R18 prototypes to battle two Rebellion Lola Toyotas, two Honda Performance Development entries, and two Pescarolos.
The LMP2 category features nine entries, including Nissan, Lotus, Judd and Honda Performance Development powered cars.
The tough GTE-Pro division includes Ferrari, Porsche and Aston Martin entries. In the GTE-Am class, Chevrolet Corvette joins the classic Porsche vs. Ferrari rivalry.
The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón portion of the Sebring entry will be announced later this month. A total of 64 cars are expected to start of the once-around-the-clock classic.
"We are honored to host the only FIA World Endurance Championship race in North America," stated Sebring Raceway President and General Manager Tres Stephenson. "Combined with the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón, Sebring's 60th anniversary promises to be one for the record books."
Gates open at Sebring on Wednesday, March 14th and remain open 24 hours a day thru Saturday's 12-hour classic.
Tickets are available online or by calling 800-626-7223.
The first FIA World Championship for sports car racing made its debut at Sebring International Raceway in 1953. History repeats itself with the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship launching at Sebring's legendary 3.74-mile circuit that originated from a WWII B-17 training base known as Hendricks Field.
