this seems to be a battle between AEM and hondata. hondata is obviously more user friendly than the aem as john stated, but if youre not the one tuning it thats not even an issue. youre paying someone else with assloads of prior knowledge and tuning experience to do it for you so what does it matter if its user friendly? once the tuner is comfortable with the program thats not a factor. i like the way my car runs on hondata but personally if i could go back i would chose aem because of its adjustability and datalogging feedback(which i know is an 'option' with hondata). with aem you dont need anything besides a laptop and wideband/dyno to tune your car. everytime i change soemthing on my car i need to go thru the whole process or getting it "retuned" which i personally dont like and it seems like a waste of money because i know i can do it myself but i just lack the equipment.
john i am not knocking or questioning your tuning capabilities at all, you have done nothing but excellent work from the get go for me, but right now i am at the point where i wish i could just do all of the minor adjusting on my own, and i cant with the hondata.
for the average person that pays someone to build their car and really knows nothing about it id say hondata is the way to go mainly do to the price, which isnt even a big difference if your working with an obd2 car, but if youre looking for that ability to alter it on your own and u feel comfortable messing with your own car id say AEM. also ive seen and used the AEM before and its not something you can learn over night, it takes a lot of time and experience to know what youre doing
