Paul came to us a week ago with his 100% stock Evo 8. It was plagued with a rough idle, boost issues, a disintegrated aftermarket drop in filter, and sputtering under full throttle. We immediately went to work to diagnose the problem which lead us to a damaged factory intercooler that was expelling air back into the atmosphere as fast as the turbo could feed into the charge system. Under our recommendations, Paul took this opportunity to upgrade to an aftermarket 3.5 inch intercooler, a Blox cone air filter, add a forged manual boost controller into the mix as well, and a retune to replace the extremely conservative factory tune.
Base line is the factory tune in blue 220whp/219wtq@19psi peak. The retune is in red 262whp/274wtq@22psi peak. Factory Evo 8 fuel pump is now maxed out. Paul's future upgrade plans will be a 3inch turbo back exhaust, Walboro 255 fuel pump, Forge RS blow off valve, and more boost!
