my gear is like so:
i wear helmet, upgraded ce spine protector (not the pad that comes in cheap jackets), ce elbow and shoulder pads in my mesh jacket, i wear mesh riding pants and i admit i took the knee pads out but i try to wear them on long rides. boots, i wear tall boots with shine protection. and gloves with knuckle protection i did cut the fingers off halfway cause i have 2-3xl size hands with not so long fingers.
i have a one piece mesh suit for cold days and i have a icon field vest that i had modified to fit me better and not come off me if i wreck for short rides to work on hot days. i have the matching elbow pads for it as well. i wear my riding pants, boots, and gloves with it too
i see alot of leg amputations at work cause i think riders are get their legs caught between the bike and cars involved in the crash so i wear full boots with steel shanks in them everywhere.
i think knuckle protection is important to cause when i wrecked my hand got cause between the handle bar, clutch lever and car i hit. i was going really fast and i didn't brake my hand, the glove was shredded...
i know mesh isn't the best for rash but its all i can afford right now and i focused more on impact protection more so then sliding protection, thats just my personal opinion on what i thought was more important at the time
