From my experience it was cheaper buying it from Jeff (Maztech) than mazda I guess with him buying parts from them all the time he gets a decent discount and can sell it cheaper than mazda does retail.
If you can find the whole kit online seals, gaskets, and all it should be cheaper than anyone else in town. I think I got mine from mazdatrix, but it was over a year ago I can't remember exactly where I got them from.
Rebuilding a rotary isn't all that difficult. I think the hardest part of the whole rebuild was trying to deal with the two piece apex seals. If the one piece are sufficient for your rebuild I would probably use them. I have an engine with one piece apezs and the engine runs great. Not too sure how long they last b/c the engine doesn't have that many miles on it, but supposibly the sealing ability at lower rpm isn't as good as the two piece seals. With my experience it isn't a noticable affect on lower rpm power.
It all depends on where you are trying to go with the rebuild weither you want more of a drag, autocross, or daily driver. If you need more help PM me I'll try my best to point you in the right direction, I know a little bit about the rotaries I have been messing with them a few years now, but don't get me wrong, there is still a lot I don't know and am learning everyday.
Rotor on!!!
