Showed up at RA with the regular car, You would not think RA would be a a Subi, friendly track having long straights and 4 miles of track but hings worked out pretty good. We ran the practice day and at one time was third fastest. IT rained several times during the practice and qualifying but none during the actual race. All went pretty smooth, qualifying in 5th. During the race we stretched the mileage and worked on saving the car for the last hour. There was a track incident and we were in position to come in before they closed the pits, this gave us several positions while allowing us to change driver, do 4 tires and make sure the car was topped off in fuel. We left the pits in about 8th position as I recall. When the race went green we lost a few spots, which is not unusual because of the torque of the v8s, but were able to get them back once the tires heated up and wear became an issue. The mustang and camaro leading were racing side by side for several laps with a bmw in a close third position. Somewhere a bmw went off the track, airborne and took out the guardrail with a few about 15 minutes remaining. The race ended in yellow because of the damage to the track and fencing and by that time we were in 6th spot. If the race had stayed green we might have picked up a few more slots, but as it was it was probably better that it stayed yellow all the way to the end since we almost always lose a few positions when the field first goes green. the car's advantage is under long runs. So, no blown engines, no body damage and 6th, pretty good day over all. Next race is in laguna seca in two weeks.
