IMO if you hit it with starting fluid through the air intake. And it didn't fire/run for a second... you have other issues than fuel. Make sure your getting spark. Check all your electrical connections, (corrosion). When you turn the key ON, does the CEL light up? 8mo old gas will still run, it just looses its octane a little. If the tank was full, that is actually better. Because there is less room for oxygen in the tank.....
