it's a 97 so it's a aeb .... but if i go bigger turbo i'm definitly gonna build the whole engine(pistons, rods, balance the crank, head work, etc.) i just wasn't sure how reliable the 1.8's were but what you guys say it sounds pretty reliable as long as i build it. the motor has 140,xxx miles on it, so that's another reason if i go for more power that i'm gonna build the motor, not just boost it to hell like some people do.

does the gt3076r turbo spool up fast? i know the more power you make with a turbo car the more tubo lag you'll have, due to bigger turbo=more air to spool it. i just dont wanna have to hit 4000-4500 rpm to get it to spool. i would prefer it to be around 3000-3500rpm, but if not then i guess it is what it is.

At that power range, you should be making enough torque to kill the clutch and possibly grenade the 5 speed tranny
of course i would replace the clutch when i do the build but what are the chances the tranny will go? what is a good power range to keep the tranny from dying?
