Drifting won't die because of lack of support, but because of the hate that it brings from people who race every weekend. Ask any SCCA racer or grassroots racer and they will tell you the same thing:
"What's the point? Wasting tires, and it's not a race, but a "Style" competition?" That's how the last 8 people I've asked who race on the weekends feel. They felt that the Formula D here at Road Atlanta 2 weeks ago, cut into their time on the track and it was a waste. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to drift, but the lack of support is what's going to kill it more than anything.
damn see? thats what i mean. people dont understand how graceful you actually have to be with drifting. it is no where near as easy as people think. to a drifter, it is totally worth it to waste gas and tires. to a spectator, its a waste of time...
