stop driving it, stop trying to drive it, stop trying to start it...you'll only ruin it more. Park it and decide what to do with it. Probably at the point you're at, you'll need to tow it wherever you get it fixed. Sign up for AAA online if you don't already have it, and get the Plus membership...it's well worth it.

Had my Tempo towed over 60 miles just to have the alternator replaced at the shop that replaced it just weeks before.

I have my MX-6 in the garage, waiting for me to find time to change the head gasket and piston rings. But I have 3 cars now...so being down 1 isn't too big a hassle (;
