Custom System Problems - Equalizer?
SoundWerkz (sp?) did a custom stereo in my dads '00 Camaro. It has a double din DVD touch screen headunit, custom speakers/fiberglass on door panels, rear panels and in hatch(subwoofers). It has two amps one which powers the sub and the other which powers the rest. It has a.. idk. 7-way Equalizer that used to be tucked next to the seat/center console facing up. I believe condensation from drinks probably got inside the unit (When we first got the car, the main volume on the equalizer was touchy).
Now, you may have it at a certain volume all speakers work, then all of the sudden the highs will cut out (like your muting the voice) and the subwoofers will just distort like mad, into some fuzzy buzzing sound. It doesnt matter how loud you turn it up(or low). Sometimes you get in the car, and you can turn it up louder then before, and it stays clear, but then will change to muting/distorting. It can play one song, then on the next screw up.
My best guess is a faulty Equalizer. Any one else have any thoughts?
Thanks,
John.
