Only makes it that much more difficult when changing belts, but how often is that anyways. For a lot less than new fans and a controller, you can have a perfectly working setup that you won't have to worry about again. I think it looks better too, but thats just a preference.

Since you won't listen anyways, at least direct the air from your electric fans by making a shroud or something.
