omfg!!!!!!!!! why are some people so scared of ls vtecs???
R/s ratio is important, but its not like the freaking bible to go by
building up a b16 like that will cost you wayyyyyyyy more then just buying a b18c or even a c5 shortblock!
just getting the crank will cost you freaking over 900!!
sure, when you need to rev the piss out of your engine constantly this might be a good build,(for racing maybe)
but most of us here on t.r. drive our cars on the street., where midrange torque is more important.( correct me if im wrong)
lsvtecs and b18c's are just as reliable as the b16s and b17s
it all depends on how you build your motor..
using correct tolerences and clearrences is most peoples problems
not bad R/S ratio!!
when would you rather have your torque and power??
ls/vtecs usually peak at around 7.5 to 9k rpm
i bet you that b16's with the same mods will end up being somewhere around 10k or 11k to generate the same amount of power( do they even make cams that go that high?)
and trust me, when you rev that high to make that much power, you will have more problems then those l/s vtecs with their "bad"
r's ratios (tearing down the head during every oil change must be fun!)
another thing id like to point out is b18s have a higher deck height
enough with this debate!
b16s suck that is all.......
nothing compares to a good ole merican v8
