So im tired of having such a beautiful car sit in my driveway under a cover being neglected... I AM NOT SELLING THE CAR, so dont worry. Im simply taking the time to update what will take place and get things in motion. I have purchased the porting templates for the high compression turbo engine that will be placed in this car. Porting has not begun yet as most of you reading this already know. Im having some interesting setbacks
Parts that are in my pocession and that need to be prepped are the T4 tubular divided turbo manifold. 40mm watse gate. Aeromotive adjustable Fuel pressure regulator. FC oil cooler and stainless lines, solid mounts.
Parts on the way will be Precision turbo... i had been leaning towards the 6262. after looking at the ratios i decided that the 6265 would be a better option. After several reviews and reading on the new billet wheel design and the comparison of piston engines to rotary as far as turbo sizing and power potential (thanks Jeff) i have determined (estimated) that the 6265 will max out at 512whp on the 13b. This is an estimation as Precision does not produce compressor maps... It has also become apparent that this turbo does not shine till atleast 22psi.... so that may be cause for some concern. I had expected to run "higher" boost... however there are quite a few things i still need in order to do so. In normal single turbo rotary boost levels (15-16psi) this turbo should respond very similarly to a gt35r, with slightly faster spool. I honestly think that 500whp in a street car is MORE than enough power, and anything above that would be on the verge of being reckless anyways... which is why i was contemplating 7
Things still to come. Obviously i will need a clutch and flywheel for the t2 drivetrain... the stage 4 i will probably get should be good for the 350-450 hp this build will realisticly make... but we shall see. On the hook for solid rear diff mounts and a pinion snubber to hopefully reduce stress on the rear end, reduce breakage, and increase potential power to the ground. Contemplating the oil pan/engine brace from banzai.. not sure how much flex i will have under load, but i can only assume that it would be a bad thing. Other engine bracing options are being investigated as well. Injector upgrades are necessary as 4x550cc injectors wont flow more than 300hp... so expect 4x1600s or similar in the near future. With new injectors comes the possibility for new rails... as im not sure i will be able to find the injectors of my choice in the proper size for the 11mm rails... so if i do rails, they will be custom. Along with more power, bigger injectors, custom rails, the fuel pump will need to be upgraded as well. The current 255 pump is running fine however, i will probably consider running a twin pump setup and adding a bosch pump if not running two bosch pumps. More boost and more fuel and more $$$ being invested in this ticking time bomb would require a better management system than the 20+ year old stock ecu. Haltech platinum sport should be more than capable of taking care of this. Koyo has been sold... with the intent to vmount the new 7. The vmount setup would require a new intercooler as well, as the one currently owned is rather large for the vmount. This leads to the vmount mounting options. I will probably custom fab the vmount mounts
There are a variety of other small things that are in the works, but this is the major idea and i figured i would give you all an update as i know some of you have been wondering wtf ive been doing since the car was brought home. Obviously there is alot of money in this thread... and as to be expected it will take me some time to get all of this done. So those of you looking for this car to be out ripping up the streets or on some youtube video this summer... your probably going to be disapointed. However! as soon as my living arrangements are properly taken care of, you can bet your ass that this project will take off with the inherrent amount of force that you will expect from it when it arrives at the track.
