Hone it and re-ring it. It isn't that difficult. As far as the cometic gasket, it's potshot, some have had success coating them with copper spray or hylomar. I personally wouldn't use one unless I had both the head and block surfaced to cometic's specification. You'll have to be making more than 550whp to lift a ka head using arp studs or detonate the shit out of your motor to burn up an oem gasket but even then chances are a piston will go first. Put an oem or felpro gasket on it and call it a day. Don't forget to check the head from straightness before you put it back on. If it's not withing spec, have it surfaced. If not you'll be doing this all over again and posting up a thread about how much ka's suck after you just "rebuilt" yours and it blew up a week later.
