what was wrong with my car as it sat i was thinking what the hell was wrong with it.So carbednotch came over and we started to pull the beast apart,first off the carb found out my butterflies were nicley rusted.next was intake it is fine shape since i just put it on not to long ago,but I found something strange in my oil gallery noticed no XXX marking only marking was fomco(sp) 302 stamping and thats it guess its an older style 302?Or is that the 4 bolt 302? either or it was pretty clean from the abuse over the years almost looks new.
After all that was said and done and yes we drained the coolant from the motor, valve covers were next as so was the nice dooe 68 heads(does anyone knoe the spec's on these heads?) carbed notch was surprised in the quality of the heads and rockers,as same with me. Well we took the driver side head off and b4 we could get to the heavy iron head it slides a lil and ohh nice green fluid drains in my cylinder's

not to much but enuf to have to soak up with a towel(what can I do about this drain oil and hope it wont do nething?)
Ok I will get to the point me and nick(carbednotch) were looking at my head as it looked it was burning rich as can be and i notice a heated point on the heads and a lil rust look on the number 8 cly.Nick was like how is the gasket i said pull it off and what do you kno it has a nice chunk out of the part where number 7 and 8 are side to side big enuf to fit my finger threw.oh and thats not all there was another crack at the end at the bottom of the gasket !!! well at least it wasnt my valve as I was thinking.
Btw another question I have a set of 1986 licoln head gaskets from victor reniz they look pretty good quality to me just there is one difference to the gaskets, the top peice has a extra hole on my head gasket then the 86's. I will try to find a pic and post it.
