If anything, you're the one he needs to quit being closed minded about V8's. Do some research on the old tech, going backwards in time, pushrod LS1/LS6 V8 and my old tech quad cam 32v V8. You'd be amazed what you will learn.
all he is saying is that 4 cylinder technology has come a long way within the past few years, making it difficult for die hard v8 guys to believe that something with less than 2liters of displacement can keep up with their 400ci muscle machine that can yank the front wheels off the ground. v8 will always have more potential just due to the plain fact that power is made from air and fuel...and what can hold more a 1.8liter or 5.8liter???? its just a matter of motor efficiency versus weight
