Default A Good Time With Yank Krew

Yank Krew is open to all types of cars and all types of people..... Family friendly.
At Sunday's meet to name a few......Toyota, Acura, BMW, Subaru, Mazda, Honda, Lexus, Nissan, VW, etc. No loud music, no fights and we were close enough to the entrance there were no burnouts. A good time in a peaceful woodsy setting.

One of the activities was a fender rolling demonstration on a BMW. I had heard of it being done that way, but this was the first time I actually saw it done.

There was a primered Mazda and with the owners permission, we wrote all over it. and drew pictures too. All over it! You had to have been there....
I had an interesting discussion with a Toyota guy about the best cleaners and waxes to use as well as the right technique for polishing aluminum. He definitely knows his stuff.
Just4sho did a demo on installing a valve cover breather using one of their member's cars.

An absolutely perfect '81 Toyota rolled in. The car was spotless and in like-new condition. Beautiful car,,,,wood steering wheel that matched the wood parking brake handle and a best of show-quality interior. Tires were 215x50xTHIRTEEN's on real Toyota polished mag wheels....dropped it low.....that car will definitely get some grip in the turns.

Around 1:30P-M, the Mazda Rotary guys showed up........by then the only parking spaces were waaaayyyyy down at the North end.....they must have held a separate meet, cuz by the time spaces opened up near our pavillion, they were driving out.
All day long cars were coming and going......maybe around 30 or so......Yank Krew got there early, but non-meet people were coming and going as well and taking parking spaces before we could get one of the meet cars into it.

In my spare time I walked the boardwalk, saw a family of alligators and shot the bull with some non-car people. I had driven I-275 past this place many times without knowing it was there. At one point on the boardwalk, you could have tossed a Honda gear shift knob and hit the interstate. The park had put up signs that said: "Don't Feed Yourself To The Alligators."

Just4sho solved the parking problem by backing four cars onto the grass.......
until the Park Ranger showed up and told them to keep off the grass......I can see the headline on the St Pete Times...."Ranger Warns Car Club To Keep Off The Grass".......members deny they were smoking weed...... Just4sho will be putting on a meet at CCC....check TR local events.....

We must have lit and re-lit the fire in the grill three times to cook dogs, burgers, and BBQ chicken. Someone brought some Lasagne, some excellent chili...just the thing after the cold weather we had been having.
When someone told me they brought some hot sauce, I put a drop on my hand to taste it........and my eyeballs started sweating. The next guy grabbed it up and poured it on like ketchup.......I said: " Go light, man!, go light!" He laughed and said "Don't tell me to go light. I'm Puerto Rican." We both laughed as I stumbled over to the water fountain while chugging Gatorade..

"Whistling Tom" showed up. He has a unique ability to pull on his ear and make a train whistle sound....No joke.

There was a cruise afterward for those who wanted to, but I was heading North.
I had a great time, folks. Anyone posting up some pictures?-Bob
