Many trucks will be sitting on lots when gas gets over $4 gal. Thats how I got my 04 Silverado so cheap. I bought it back in 07 with 54k for $10,200 out the door. And my truck is full loaded. Z60 and Z82 package, console, pwr everything and with the 5.3 gets very respectable gas mileage with enough hp and trq to easily pull anything I load on my trailer.
I averaged 13.8 mpg coming back from Ohio loaded down heavy with Jeffs car and parts. Those mountain hills were no joke either.
7.3 would make easy work of these hills. I had a 93 F250 with the 7.3 Power Stroke and that truck got 19 mpg empty or loaded,.. it was the same no matter what. If I ever get the chance to buy another I will.
