It's not fair to trash all the 70 era's cars all because of few shitty ones. There were some very cool cars from the early 70's.
I'd say 1974 thru 1984 was the worst decade for cars. '74 was the first year of mandated emissions controls in the U.S. and by 1985 some actual performance cars were finally starting to return.
