realistically if i was going to do a lsx swap i would find me a nice 89-91 convertible. convertibles have a much more rigid and stronger chassis. almost everything in twice a thick(core support,firewall,extra bracing on front subframe and tranny tunnel) then put either a 8.8",9" or t2 rearend in it. Then for more rigidity i would add a full weld in cage so you don't twist the chassis launching it.
really to make the car nice and reliable your going to need to do some chassis work, your planning on putting a engine in a car that makes more torque stock than most rotaries will ever. so the chassis itself isn't built to be the strongest albeit it is light though.
