The worst thing about a Viper is at 450hp ('03 500hp) it only runs in the 12.0-12.3 range and there's nothing you can do about it. You can't put SC, turbos or nitrous on them. You can't change the suspensions or wheels. You can't put headers on them or intakes or do any head work. There is absolutely nothing you can do to that 488cid ('03 505cid) V10 to make it go faster. And of course we all know 12.0@120mph aint fast.
Oh and top end? It takes forever to reach 186mph.
So if you ever see a Viper run faster than 12.0 it probably has a Chevy motor...or a VTEC.
Chuck, you and I have had this convo many a time. Most won't admit to it, for whatever reason, but they would love to own and drive a viper everyday. They don't have to be fast. Even though they are.
