ALOT i was sliding on the street every week for like a year and a half and i found out the hard way that it's not allways the smartest place to play lol... we all have to learn somewhere and for most of us.. yes it is the streets.. but i do not encourage drifting on the streets but if you do just be respectful to your surroundings, and yourself.. dont go fuck some place up and ruin shit for yourself and others and dont go drifting in the middle of a intersection and kill 5 people lol if you do choose to play in the street just be very careful and wise..

now as far as tracks go useally depends where your located.. i started off at desoto speedway in bradenton florida becuase its about 10 min away from my house.. but there is a few other good tracks around florida mostly on the east coast but if you can manage to make it to one you should go! this friday (black friday) at Central florida road course in orlando there is a big driftevent from 6pm-1am you can get more info in the thread on here, www.sundayslide.com, and the cfrc facebook. but yeah pretty much id go with a track that close to you and try and make it to every event possible there.. but first thing is first your car!?

idk if you have a car or not but there is a bunch of cars u can use for drifting pretty much anything RWD... the most popular is the nissan 240sx.. why? well becuase it has huge aftermarket support and its very easy to swap pretty much any motor in the chassis if you have the money and knowledge... not to mention the cars pretty much come stock ready to drift.. personally id invenst in suspention right away even if it is lowering springs and struts.. unless your baller and can afford coilovers.. but yea suspention , weld the diff, get your ebrake working good and some good front tires and an extra set of wheels and you can start to shreddddd... as far as other cars go besides the 240 id say rx7's are allways good.. 350z's come out of the box pretty much drift ready but its all personal preferance..

just find a nice car.. make it solid.... and start praticing and making events.. your saftey comes first over all.. but put alot of time and effort into your car.. if your going to be drifting anad this is what you want to do then invest in your hobby dont run a pos car that leaks and stalls and wastes peoples time on the track take your time and spend your money wise... Funcion > form ---- fuck that find Balance... and most of all Have fun,... Hope this helps..

hoooly shits thats long lol../

but anyways, the reason i wanted to get into drifting is because running in a straight line is gay and boring. i want to do somthing thats going to have more of a learning curve and because from whom ive talked to, people who drift are a whole lot nicer then the people who think there fast in a oversized lawn
mower

im buying a car off of OrganicRobot... idk if you know him but hes a really cool guy... and his car seems pretty drift readdy and comes with the following

s15 and 6 speed tranny swap in a s14
nismo motor mounts/tranny mounts
greddy front mount intercooler kyb agx/ megan racing springs( are these good?)
megan racing exaust
hks ssqv bov( wtf are these?)
koyo raditor
and a couple of other things that im probally forgetting but thats the main stuff

and what do you guys mean when weld the diff?
