the head is aluminum..... buy 3 new plugs. install each plug only once then removed it and throw it away. do the same with the other 2 new plugs and ur thread should be fixed. i just did this on a k-series swap and it worked fine..

oh and dont forget to put anti seize on it while ur doing it
