Everyone does do it that way. Is 12 gallons the size of your gas tank? If so, why would you tell me that instead of exactly how many gallons you actually filled up with, which is the information we actually need to calculate your MPG?

I thought it was just a random factoid. Well, yes 12.0 gallons is the tank size. Actual fillup for that tank I don't remember, but would work backwards to calculate it. I've been recording since I got the car, and just posted my highest (though not uncommon) calculated MPG and the furthest I've gone on a tank. Oh well, glad to be in the top 20. Literally sweating to get to 40!
