ok my friend has a 91 lx vert that was swapped over to 5speed way back when he still lived in maryland. (just to put that out there so u know his car was running all this time with a A9P computer.) then it wouldnt start with his computer so he had to put my friends 90 computer in. we put his back in when we puttin different relays in and it still wouldnt start.
anyway his car ran GREAT and then his clutch went out. he changed the clutch and went to start, and nothing. then we found out he didnt have the the tranny plugged in for it to start (i dont know wat the plug is called). then he started it right up and drove it for about an hour or so and then his fuel pump relay started ticking and gettin hot. once it got so hot the car would just die and he would have to wait for it to cool down to drive it again.
after a while the driving time before it would shut off got shorter and shorter.
he ended up replacing the fuel pump relay about 3 times thinkin that was the problem but it wasnt.
so last night we ripped it all apart to check and see if any wires were shorting out. but come to find out that the EEC relay under the hood was ticking with the fuel pump relay.
couldnt find any problems with the wires but when we would jiggle some the ticking would get worse SOMETIMES. but we checked those wires again and they were fine.
so we swapped relays and his worked fine in my car, he then had new relays in the car and i still was ticking.

so if anyone has ANY IDEA please help


P.S. - We changed the relays with perfectly good ones (MINE) and it didnt make a difference. so thats not the problem.
