Actually Im kidding. I had a good freind with a 5.0 all bolt ons and a 150 shot. He ran low 12s with enough mph for 11s...he just never got it there. It had almost 200k miles on the odo when he sold it to some kid. When he sold it it was setup to run good NA. Hotter plugs and NA timing. He told the kid what to do if he was going to run the nitrous, such as pull some timing and put in a heat range colder plug.
Well we saw the kid at sunshine and he came up to my buddy and asked him why the car was running so slow on the juice. We started asking him what shot he was running, how the car was setup etc etc. He didt really know. We watched him make a pass and it sounded like someone rattling 1000 pebbles in a tin can...detonation all the way down the track. We left since we expected the car to die any second and didnt want to be blamed for selling a lemon. And the kid would not take any of our advice.
Fast Fwd a few months......we see the car at Blue Oval all wrecked up. But the engine was still going strong. The 5.0 motors are damn tough and can take a beating. Obviously if you run them correctly they will last a long time too.
