The hatch door that's on my whip now is dented and kinda sucks. Due to that, I picked up a fresh hatch door from a fellow TR member. Unfortunately it (was) a canary type yellow, and my hatch is teal green. I didn't feel like riding around w/ mismatched parts again but since this is only temporary b/c my car needs paint and bodywork anyway, I figured what the hey.
Here you have it, my hatch door, keep in mind I'm a professional by no means...
Hatch Door:
All I did to prep the surface was remove all the rubber gromets & such, trunk lock, etc., tuck the wires, tape off the emblem, and clean the door thoroughly w/ some diluted Kaboom. I didn't primer b/c I wanted my graffiti backdrop to look somewhat "authentic;" 'tagged' so to speak.
Some:
I'm going to let this dry, then I'm going to do some wetsanding to smooth out the surface and reveal some layers. After that I'm going to be adding some more crap w/ slightly more detail.
More (coming soon)...
