Honestly, I have no idea about the CV. However, there is no automatic cut off that I am aware of with Mustangs. At least on the years that I am aware of. I had a buddy years (like 20+) ago with a Honda that would do that. We would drive and when it just stopped, we would add a quart and keep going....
