Buy the Fj rods and piston combo. They've been proven time and time again to take the punishment. You can get them in stock 75mm or 75.5mm if you need to refurbish your current bore.

I've been running my Vitara/Eagle combo for over four years now and the only problem I had is with breaking transmission parts. My setup with the eagle rods is super low compression, like 7.4:1, the new FJ rods bring that back up.
