That's true, but when you take the cost of removing the V6 and wedging the LS7 into the thing and toss that into the engine as well, my money is on the V6.

I blew the doors of an STI with my old truck, it was far from fast. But the STI had the I can't shift for shit driver mod.
Driver mod won't account for the distance that the NSX put between itself and the Corvette, though it is an important consideration. This was the most advanced solo group running that weekend outside of the sprint races, you don't qualify to drive in it if you don't know how to properly shift through the gears. It can be safely assumed that all drivers within the group are of a somewhat similar skill level, that's why they have groups in the first place.

Several companies sell the kits, they are advertised as 1,000 hp and they include all the supporting mods you would need to do it. There's no reason you wouldn't be able to make 1,000hp on the V6 just like there's no reason to not be able to make it on an LS7.

Yeah that's a totally fair assumption of something I witnessed first hand and you didn't. I'm glad you cleared that up for me, because no one who road races their Z06 has ever added any horsepower to it at all.

I didn't say it was about revs, I was remarking on the limited power band comment, this car did not have a limited power band as far as we could see.

Compared to what? an Accord? The second gen NSX in stock form was as good if not better than almost every other competing super-car while being about half the price and twice as reliable. It is based heavily on the accord drivetrain, and was extremely cheap to service compared to Porsche or Ferrari models with similar specs.
