Id check these Forums. I have done E30s, but not e36s.

I have read up on how to do this to a E34. the 5 series, but from the same era and your list above is correct. Plus the flange on the rear diff was bigger, so that also needed to be swapped out Or you could put the smaller one on the driveshaft.

the 5 speed trans from any M50 twin cam will work. ( so theM3, 3 series and 5 series) Also the flywheel- clutch assembly from the M3s will work and be stronger. Pedal, linkage and driveshaft lengths I dont know about.
