Well theres also this thing about the driver and when I was over a second faster than a guy in a C6 Z06 I'm going to go with I dont give a shit.
Yeah mr. Z06 only used 2nd down the main straight, I used third and I was faster. It was more fun to actually use the gears. Thats why I like driving a manual car, thats where driving dynamics comes in, how much fun is the car to drive? I dont want to go to an autocross, or a track or a mountain road and leave it in 2nd the entire time that would be boring. Thats what makes driving something with a tiny motor fun, going up and down the gears and working for the speed. Its not about the power its about the over all experience. I'd like to row through the gears and down shift. Its exiting and makes the driving experience much more fun.
In the end, I was still faster than an LS7 car that is well known to be very compentant out of the box at auto-x.
If I was building an all out race car then the entire set up would be different from the suspension to the tires to the engine, but I'm not I'm building a car that is exciting and rewarding to drive. You need to get out and do some more driving. I dont care if the car is actually faster, what matters is how much fun I'm having.
I can also say with confidence your LSX car isnt going to be any faster than mine in the mountains and maybe a few 10ths if that at an auto-x. Even then I doubt that unless your running DOT-R comps or better because you're going to have a nightmare of a time trying to get any traction. Road course you'll be faster but again not a race car so as long as I'm driving what ever car I'm in fast I dont care.
