but.. since he asked. i had a 2004 touring 350. i loved it when i first purchased the car. i would still own one, just dont turbo anything before an 07. the VQ35DE can handle 8lbs, if it spikes or ANYTHING goes out of wack you motor is gone gone gone.. if you build the motor they love boost. as far as NA mods i think the highest hp i have heard of is about 300whp with thousands in mods also using fcon. the car is comfy and gets looks everywhere (even if there are a billion of them) tranny issues should be in the faint history. there was a recall on trannys from 03,05 and 05. Nissan was very active at getting these changed out to the newer tranny, some of the originals had bad syncro issues that would not enable to shift. lots of aftermarket support and fun car all around... with that said... i have a clean 240 i guess that speaks for itself. good luck
I echo Z350man. I used to own a 2003 350Z which I bought brand new. Then, I traded it for a BMW 335i at the end of last year. It was a great car which I enjoyed driving for the past 7 years. Fortunately, the tranny didn't need to be replaced, but it did have the tire feathering issue which was covered by the warranty. By 2005, I believe that problem was corrected. Other than that, I had no other major mechanical issues.
One minor thing I had to have done was replace the driver side window motor because it went bad. That's about it.
There's definitely a lot of aftermarket stuff out there. I added a Motordyne plenum spacer and the NISMO Cat-back, CAI, and LGMT4 rims.
After I added all that, it ran even better.
