I think its stupid to run a engine hard before its had 2500..It almost like running a engine hard while its cold, you get the same effect.

I built a 2.3 Ford back in 1987 and I did the 500 mile break in, worse mistake of my life. I would never recommend any less than 2500 miles and in that amount of miles, 3 oil changes.
