yep, do a leak down test. checking the compression is kind of a blind way of testing. It could indicate either bad rings, or valves that either are staying open, or closed. Check out honda tuning. I believe they have a tech. artical on how to build your own leak down tester for cheap. It also explains how to opperate it. From what it sounds like to me though you do. I think maybe you should check your timing and see if your off any teeth. ( Hense set your timing marks up like you are susposed to when changing your timing belt, and piston is at top dead center number one. If your timing marks are off anywhere. that's a pretty good indication that "maybe" you have some bent valves.) Do all of that, and see if it doesn't give you results.
